Manages InterSessions clinic and has oversight over all interns in the Masters of Clinical Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling Practicum programs.

Kimberly Williams, TLLP, LLC

Formally trained in clinical psychology and theology and endorses an integrative theoretical approach toward the two disciplines. Clinical experience includes working with individual, couples, and group therapy. Certified Gottman Level 1 and Level 2 couples therapy and Gottman’s Treating Affairs and Trauma in relationships. Assists with training of all interns in the Masters of Clinical Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling Practicum programs.

LICENSED THERAPIST

John M. Restum, PsyD, LP

Professor John Restum, PsyD, LP serves as faculty on the Michigan Moody Theological Seminary campus. He teaches graduate courses within the MACP and CMHC clinical programs. He also serves as clinical director for the Michigan campus-based InterSessions Counseling Center, providing supervision for graduate interns and licensed clinic staff. Professor Restum began his teaching career in 1994 with Michigan Theological Seminary and transitioned to Moody Theological Seminary faculty following the 2010 seminary merger. He is a licensed clinical psychologist who recently retired from the Wayne County Jail, serving as Mental Health Department Director.

Richard Janka, PsyD, LP

Dr. Janka attended the University of Detroit Mercy for his undergraduate studies. There he received a double major in sociology and religious studies. He later went on to earn his Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Moody Theological Seminary. He received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology in 2012. Dr. Janka has worked with individuals ranging from age 15 to late adulthood as well as couples. He has experience working with anxiety, depression, AD/HD, sexual issues (including addiction and sexual disorders), PTSD, and premarital counseling. He also has experience working with police, fire, and other first responders. Dr. Janka has received specialized training in the following areas: hostage & crisis negotiation, law enforcement stress, line of duty death, and critical incident stress management. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Michigan Psychological Association, as well as a member of the International Association of Chiefs or Police and the Fire Service Psychology Association.

Tim Scarbrough, TLLP, LLC

Formally trained in clinical psychology and theology and endorses an integrative theoretical approach toward the two disciplines. Clinical experience includes working with military veterans as well as individual, couples, family, and group therapy. Certified Gottman Level 1 and Level 2 couples therapy and Gottman’s Treating Affairs and Trauma in relationships. Manages InterSessions clinic and has oversight over all interns in the Masters of Clinical Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling Practicum programs. Serves as Adjunct Professor at Moody Theological Seminary.

**Currently enrolled in Walden University’s Counseling Education and Supervision-Clinical Mental Health Counseling PhD program.

CLINIC MANAGER / ADJUNCT PROFESSOR

Sara Temple, TLLP, LLC

Formally trained in clinical psychology and theology and endorses and takes joy in an integrative theoretical approach toward the two disciplines. Her clinical experience includes working with individuals, couples, family, and groups with a wide variety of mental health and relational needs. Sara particularly enjoys working with young children, tweens/teens, couples (as a Gottman Level 1 certified therapist) and families on an infertility or perinatal loss journey. Sara assists with training of all interns in the Masters of Clinical Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling Practicum programs.
